Everything went well at the sail away party, and we had lots of fun! Thanks to all of you who showed up!

Below: Gabriel Heyman discusses welding quality with Mark Muru, manager of Alunaut where the Journeyman was built. I have just received a nice gift from Stefan Mälstad, appropriately wrapped in carbon fibre:

Pia l’Obry was very intent in her performance as baptising MC, with the help of her partner (and Journeyman’s chief hydrodynamics engineer) Jens Österlund:

…which led to a splendid success!

After over seven years of design work, over two years of building, 5 tons of aluminium, 1.15 km rope and 2 km electric cables, 3500 details and 600 drawings, plus 2 000 Nm of test sailing, it is ….

… time to go!

Come to Fisksätra Marine Center on Saturday the 17th of September to help us celebrate! Starting at 16:00 you can visit the boat, hang out with some of the cool people that made it happen, have a drink and a snack. At 18:00 there will be some sort of ceremony, which I haven’t designed yet ;-) so feel free to contribute! And maybe later we will prove that Journeyman is the worlds only climate research sailing yacht with two dance floors!

This invitation goes out to all of you blog readers, even if I don’t know you yet. Feel welcome! Bring a friend! But please tell me on the 14th at latest how many you are bringing (mail to crew@journeyman.se).
