Unfortunately we are STILL waiting to get the mast put on. Seems to be taking forever… Everything is waiting next to the boat.
I am currently moored at Marström Composites in Västervik. Of course, if you are a company dealing in carbon composite manufacturing, you can have even the garbage bins made from carbon:
But I am actually more interested in my mast, which looks pretty good even if there are a few small details that was forgotten in manufacturing that we need to put in place before we can mount it. So this will happen on Tuesday, probably.
Nobody is working over the weekend, so I am humming all alone doing installations, such as the main VHF antenna which you can see below. It is mounted a bit lower than the mast top to become lower than the thunder protection rod which should stick up the most.
Mast foot. Shiny, so it must be expensive… :-)
I’ll write more on the rigging later, but I just got the first images from the maker, so I just had to write a teaser blog entry about it.
Today I should actually write about the first big designer mistake I have discovered I made. But the weather was so bad today that it was too dark for taking photos in the yard. So I’ll write about that tomorrow instead.
…oh and by the way, I just watched some web TV footage from today’s wedding. I was really surprised, I never realized Björn Skifs could sing that well!
